Located south of Bend this National Monument was established only a short time ago (Nov 1990). A great day trip or overnight excursion. Lots of breathtaking vistas and natural points of interest.

Lava Lands Visitor Center

Interpretive hub of the Newberry National volcanic Monument. A quick drive from downtown Bend. South on HWY 97 toward Sunriver. Bicycling, Hiking, Nature Viewing, Outdoor learning and Picnicking.

Lava River Cave

A mile-long lava tube offers self-guided exploration. Great day trip for the family but leave fido at home. No pets are allowed in the cave.
